A Safari Experience I Will Never Forget! I honestly don’t know where to start because this 10-day safari to witness the Great Migration was one of the most beautiful experiences I have ever had. From the very first day to the last, everything felt special and I came home with so many unforgettable memories. A big thank you to Alex, our trip organizer, who made everything easy from the beginning. He was always helpful, responsive, and made sure we were comfortable and that everything was well arranged. Mery was also wonderful and supportive throughout the trip. And then there was Johnson, our tour guide — what a great person! He was not only an excellent guide but also someone who made us feel comfortable, safe, and welcome. His knowledge of wildlife was incredible, and you could really see how passionate he is about what he does. He knew where to look for animals and always tried his best to give us the best possible experience. Seeing the animals in their natural environment was something completely different from anything I had experienced before. Watching the Great Migration with my own eyes was absolutely breathtaking. There were moments when I simply sat quietly and looked around, thinking, “I’m really here!” The accommodation was a great mix of luxury and mid-range, and I was very happy with the quality considering the package price. For what we paid, I honestly feel that we received excellent value for money. What I appreciated most was not only the safari itself, but the people behind it. Alex, Mery, and Johnson made us feel looked after throughout the journey, and that made the whole experience even more meaningful. I left Tanzania with incredible photographs, beautiful memories, and a lot of appreciation for the people who made this journey possible. Kilimanjaro Classic Safaris — thank you for giving me memories that I will carry with me for a lifetime. ❤️

An Amazing 6-Day Safari Experience with Kilimanjaro Classic Safaris We had an absolutely wonderful 6-day safari with Kilimanjaro Classic Safaris, visiting some of Tanzania’s most incredible destinations: Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara. From the very beginning, everything was well organized and professionally handled. A special thank you to Alex, our trip organizer, for his excellent communication, organization, and support throughout the entire safari. He made sure everything was arranged smoothly and that we felt comfortable and well taken care of. Our guide, Michael, was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable about the wildlife, parks, and local environment, and his passion for Tanzania really made the experience special. He was patient, friendly, professional, and always focused on making sure we had the best possible experience. Thanks to Michael, we had some unforgettable wildlife encounters and learned so much along the way. Each destination offered something unique, from the elephants of Tarangire to the spectacular landscapes and wildlife of the Serengeti, the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, and the beautiful surroundings of Lake Manyara. It was an unforgettable adventure and a fantastic way to experience Tanzania. I highly recommend Kilimanjaro Classic Safaris to anyone planning a safari in Tanzania. If you are looking for a reliable, well-organized company with an excellent guide and personal service, I would definitely recommend them. Thank you, Alex and Michael, for an unforgettable safari! We will always remember this incredible experience.

Amazing safari experience Overall, I had an amazing safari experience. The wildlife and scenery were incredible, and our guide, Daniel, did a great job making sure we saw everything we wanted to see. Once we were inside the parks, the experience was truly unforgettable. There are a few things I wish had been communicated more clearly beforehand, especially for solo travelers joining different groups. I did not realize how large the parks were or how long it would take to travel from each park and even central Serengeti to the northern Serengeti. There was a lot of driving, sometimes 12–14+ hours a day over very rough terrain, and the long stretches became exhausting. If possible, I would recommend flying directly into the Serengeti rather than flying into Arusha or Kilimanjaro and then spending many hours driving to the parks. Personally, I would also skip Tarangire if your itinerary already includes the Serengeti and ngorongoro, I felt like I saw everything I wanted to see, and much more in these 2 parks. Cutting out an additional park could also save you a significant amount of driving. Our vehicle broke down twice, which Daniel told us was unusual, but unfortunately it added significantly to the already long travel days. Apparently all drivers that they hire are also mechanics so they are able to fix cars on the fly which is helpful. There were many broke down empty cars on the road. Our vehicle was also pretty tight with six guests, our driver/guide, and our chef traveling together + luggage, camping stuff, food, water and drinks; I’d recommend limiting to a group of 4 Because I was traveling solo and joining different groups, there were pickups and drop-offs along the way. I booked through a travel agent rather than directly, so I let the agent handle most of the details and didn’t have a clear picture of what to expect day to day. This may have contributed to some of the communication issues. My accommodation was also changed from Mvuli to Fanaka (which was not great) to make pickup and drop-off logistics easier. I understood the reasoning, but I would have appreciated knowing more about the change beforehand. The accommodations vary SIGNIFICANTLY, so make sure you understand exactly what you are booking and where you’re staying each day to plan accordingly. Some are very basic. A few people in our groups did not realize that their accommodations were actually pitched tents in public campsites and arrived completely unprepared to camp. Some of those campsites were less than desirable. If your itinerary says “camp,” specifically ask whether that means a permanent tented lodge or an actual pitched tent at a public campsite, and ask about the bathrooms, showers, bedding, and other facilities. Hot water can also be very limited at some accommodations, sometimes only lasting a minute or two. When you have it, use it and wash your hair first! On the other hand, the Sightseeing Lodge in the Serengeti and Serena in Ngorongoro were amazing. The staff were wonderful, the settings were unique, and staying inside or close to the parks made a huge difference. I stayed in both alone as the group had other accommodations but they were very nice and welcoming. Sightseeing lodge are luxury tents with functional toilet and indoor and outdoor showers. There are guards that walk you around at night because animals are around. We had buffalos living around us and monkeys on the roof, you will hear animals at night at anywhere you stay so I’d recommend bringing ear plugs and a sound machine if you’re sensitive to sound like me. The other folks on my group did not sleep the whole trip because they were hearing sounds (even lions) and other people talking at their tent sites all night. Serena lodge is on the rim of the ngorongoro crater with monkeys and elephants and animals in the backdrop of your window. I’d recommend staying here for more than one night and even maybe taking a safari break to hang out here for a day. It is beautiful and relaxing. Our chef, Rashid, prepared our meals and did a great job. Food was generally pretty simple: chicken, vegetables, rice, chapati, and some fruit. If you’re particular about coffee, consider bringing individual coffee packets. Alternative milk was also not available anywhere during my trip. A few practical things I learned: • Get cash before leaving for Arusha. You’ll want cash for tips, small purchases, and unexpected expenses. • Pack everything you need before leaving Arusha. There are only souvenir shops at the entrance of the parks. Even needing something as simple as toothpaste can require a significant detour. Arusha Airport also did not have a store, so don’t count on buying last-minute essentials there. • Bring something warm for Ngorongoro. It can get surprisingly cold. • Wear hiking/travel pants that are fitted around the legs. There is a ton of dust and dirt, and wet bathroom floors and you don’t want loose pant legs dragging on the ground. I’d also recommend a few female pee cups with the absorbent pad in them as some toilets are on the floor and require deep squatting • Bring a bandana or something similar for your hair and mouth. The dust can be intense. Wet wipes, tissues for the bathroom, purell, Imodium and colace, allergy meds • Consider nasal saline rinse if you have allergies or are sensitive to dust. I have allergies and would definitely recommend it. • Bring Gatorade/electrolyte packets, a pocket fan, and a cooling towel. • Download audiobooks and podcasts before you go. You can’t really read when the roads are that bumpy, and sometimes it’s difficult to have a conversation while driving. Audiobooks were perfect for the long stretches. WiFi and service is very spotty and not enough bandwidth for any downloads. I had the solis hotspot which was also spotty One other important tip: leave to airport fEXTRA early. It took us more than two hours because traffic was horrendous, and I almost missed my flight when the ride was supposed to be 40 min. Despite the logistical issues, I would still say the safari itself was amazing and absolutely worth doing. Daniel was a fantastic guide and worked hard to make sure we saw what we came to see. Alex and his team were also incredibly kind and responsive. Whenever I had a question or something came up, they responded quickly and genuinely tried to help. My concerns are much more about setting clearer expectations and communicating the logistics beforehand than about the people themselves. My biggest recommendation is to get a very detailed itinerary before you leave, particularly if you’re booking through a third-party travel agent. Confirm your exact accommodations, whether “camping” means a lodge/tented lodge or an actual pitched tent, expected driving times, vehicle capacity, group changes, pickup and drop-off arrangements, airport transfers, and meal details. Knowing what I know now, I would spend less time trying to fit in multiple parks and more time staying in or near the Serengeti. Once you’re there, the wildlife and experience are incredible, and that’s ultimately what made the trip so memorable.

A company I would recommend only to my worst enemy. Incompetent, disorganized and disrespectful company. We paid USD 1,600 per person for a safari that was supposed to be carefully organized. Unfortunately, our experience was completely different. Day 2 – Central Serengeti The itinerary clearly stated “early morning”. We were told the pick-up would be at 9:00 AM, but the guide arrived at 10:00 AM, exactly as he had already told us the evening before. What was extremely disrespectful was that Kilimanjaro Classic Safari had given us a different pick-up time, seemingly without any consideration for our time or for the itinerary we had paid for. Then the vehicle broke down and we had to change cars. We finally entered the Serengeti around 4:00 PM, leaving us with only about 3 hours of game drive. At around 8:00 PM, we were dropped at the accommodation of the other members of the group, even though our accommodation was different and included in our itinerary. Nobody from the tour operator knew how we were supposed to get there. Thankfully, Daniel from Abuus, whom we had met that morning and who had seen us struggling, was extremely helpful. We were the ones who asked him to take us to our accommodation, and after taking care of his own group, he drove us there around 9:00 PM. We were extremely grateful to him, but this should have been organized by our tour operator. Day 3 – Northern Serengeti This was the biggest disappointment. We paid extra specifically to spend one and a half days in Northern Serengeti, including an afternoon game drive, an overnight stay and a morning game drive before continuing towards Ngorongoro, exactly as stated in our itinerary planned with Kilimanjaro Classic Safari and paid for accordingly. We reached Northern Serengeti and did the game drive looking for the Great Migration. Unfortunately, we didn’t see the crossing — and we fully understand that wildlife cannot be guaranteed. What was completely avoidable was the organization. Five people in our group were staying in Central Serengeti, around 3 hours away, while we were supposed to stay in the north. I had warned the company about this situation the day before, but they organized nothing for us. At around 2 PM, we were forced to return with the rest of the group to Central Serengeti, meaning we lost the afternoon game drive, our evening in Northern Serengeti and the following morning’s game drive. This was the experience we had specifically paid extra for. We received a refund of USD 100 per person, which in no way compensates for what we lost. One final but important point: the driver/guide does not work for Kilimanjaro Classic Safari, and all the other members of our group had actually booked their safari through other companies. Our understanding is that Kilimanjaro Classic Safari sells the package and then resells it to the companies actually operating the safari. This creates a serious lack of coordination and accountability: the tour operator selling the package appears to have very little control over how the safari is actually organized. And this disorganization affected us in another very basic way: twice during our 6-day safari, we were left without lunch because they did not organised it. The rest of the group (staying in different accommodations) kindly shared their lunch with us. And one last detail: our package also included a free bottle of wine and one carton of safari beer. Needless to say, we never received either of them. 😂 At this point, we can only laugh about it. The migration crossing cannot be guaranteed. Competent organization, respect for clients and delivering what you actually paid for can. We would never choose Kilimanjaro Classic Safari again and cannot recommend this company.

Memorable and unforgettable experience I had an incredible multi-day safari with Kilimanjaro Classic Safaris, visiting Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park, and the Ngorongoro Crater. The entire trip was well organized from start to finish, making the experience smooth, enjoyable, and stress-free. Each destination was breathtaking in its own way. Tarangire amazed us with its large elephant herds and beautiful landscapes. The Serengeti was unforgettable, with endless plains and an incredible variety of wildlife. The Ngorongoro Crater was truly spectacular, offering the chance to see many animals in one of the most beautiful natural settings in the world. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about wildlife. He shared fascinating information about the animals, nature, and local culture while ensuring we had the best opportunities to spot wildlife. We saw lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, hippos, and many other animals throughout the safari. The accommodations, meals, and transportation were excellent, and the team's professionalism made the trip even more enjoyable. I felt safe, comfortable, and well taken care of every day. I highly recommend Kilimanjaro Classic Safaris to anyone planning a safari in Tanzania. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I would gladly travel with them again. Thank you to the entire team for creating such wonderful memories!
