Itinerary
Day 1
Flight from Zanzibar to Nyerere & Game Drive
Today, our professional driver will pick you up from your hotel in Zanzibar and transfer you to Zanzibar Airport for your 7:00 am flight to Nyerere National Park. Upon arrival at 8:25 am, you will begin your journey to Nyerere National Park (Selous Game Reserve) with our experienced driver and tour guide. In the late afternoon, enjoy a scenic drive back to your lodge, taking in the beautiful sunset over the reserve before settling in for the evening.
The Selous Game Reserve, now renamed Nyerere National Park, is a protected area in southern Tanzania. It covers a total area of 50,000 km² (19,000 square mi) and has additional buffer zones. It was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982 due to its wildlife diversity and undisturbed nature. Some of the diverse wildlife of the miombo include the African bush elephant, south-central black rhinoceros, hippopotamus, lion, African wild dog, African buffalo, Maasai giraffe, plains zebra, and Nile crocodile.

Day 2
Game Drive in Nyerere National Park & Flight Back to Zanzibar
Before breakfast, start a sunrise game drive from 7:20 am to 8:00 am. Later, after breakfast at your accommodation, start the drive again and enjoy a full-day game drive in a modified safari vehicle with a professional guide.
Great animal sightings include all the favourites such as lion, elephant, giraffe, buffalo, and zebra. You will also see all the other major species, including the now-rare African wild dog, as well as a wide variety of birds. Appreciate the wonderful scenery with varied topography, including wetlands, dry grassland, light acacia forest and higher ground with vast views of far-off mountains.
In the afternoon, you’ll have lunch and proceed with the game drive for the rest of the day.
Start the drive to Kiba Airstrip to catch a flight back to Zanzibar at 4:00 pm. Our driver will take you to the hotel.
