Itinerary
Day 1
Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park
Program of the day: In the morning, you will depart from Dar es Salaam and drive to Mikumi National Park, passing through Morogoro and enjoying scenic views of the Uluguru Mountains along the way. Upon arrival, you will check in at your lodge or camp and have lunch before heading out for an afternoon game drive. Mikumi’s Mkata Floodplain, often compared to the Serengeti, offers excellent wildlife viewing opportunities. You may spot lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, and a variety of bird species. In the evening, you will return to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2
Full Game Drive in Mikumi National Park
Program: After breakfast, you will set out for a full-day game drive in the park. Exploring different areas of Mikumi, including waterholes where hippos and crocodiles are commonly seen, you will have ample opportunity to observe wildlife in their natural habitat. Your guide will provide insights into the animals’ behavior and the park’s ecosystem. A picnic lunch will be served inside the park, followed by more wildlife viewing in the afternoon. As the sun sets, you will return to your lodge for dinner and relaxation.

Day 3
Mikumi to Udzungwa Mountains National Park
Program: After breakfast, you will depart Mikumi and drive to Udzungwa Mountains National Park, known for its rich biodiversity and lush tropical forests. Upon arrival, you will begin a guided hiking tour through the forest trails. Udzungwa is famous for its endemic primates, including the Iringa red colobus and the Sanje mangabey. The highlight of the hike is the spectacular Sanje Waterfalls, where you can enjoy breathtaking views and even take a refreshing swim if conditions allow. After the hike, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Udzungwa to Dar Es Salaam
Program: After breakfast, you may have some time to relax before starting your journey back to Dar es Salaam. Arrival in Dar es Salaam will be in the late afternoon or early evening, marking the end of your 4-day safari filled with wildlife, nature, and unforgettable experiences.
